This thing they call sleep.
It eludes me. I have class at 8:40am. It is currently 3:50am. I can never sleep. I often ponder when exactly do you cross the line into an insomniac. I think most people would say I am one. But when I say that I never sleep, that is incorrect. True I do sometimes go a day without sleeping (and in very rare cases two days), but that isn’t really the case. I just usually get to bed minutes...

It happened.
It always happens. I start a blog and then I feel like I am supposed to update it regularly. Then I start filling it with things I never meant to write about. Right now this blog looks like some sort of retarded movie critics blog. That’s not what it was supposed to be about. I was thinking about maybe documenting my life as I complete “This Book Will Change Your Life” but those...

Tron: Legacy
“I would have given up everything just to spend another day with you.” Aw, what a touching line. If this movie wasn’t an extremely long piece of crap, maybe I would have cared at the climax when the father commits suicide and destroys the world after seeing his son for another day. Okay, let’s try to keep this positive. High points. I enjoyed seeing the Sirens, they were...

Black Swan.
Unfortunately, I found this film to be mediocre. Natalie Portman was great at transforming into the character of Nina: a fragile, sheltered, young little girl. Unfortunately I can not stand that sort of character. Nina is just so naive, and controlled by her psychotic mother. The only point in the film when I found her to be tolerable was when she finally decided she was breaking free from her...

Star Trek.
My apologies if you are a “Trekkie” or if you don’t like to be called a “Trekkie,” you “Trekkie.” This film was simply not for me. It was boring. The main character was boring. Spock’s eyebrows were scary. Uhura was hot. Winona Ryder sneaks her way into another film. J.J. Abrams, you LOST and Cloverfield genius, you let me down. But considering the...

Shutter Island.
Some cool visuals here and there. You watch this movie praying they don’t go the obvious route of the detective investigating the mental institution turning out to be insane himself, and at one point, I thought they were not going to go that way. And then bam, it is all too predictable. My favourite scene was the talk with the woman below the lighthouse. If only the movie continued in that...

The September Issue.
I’m no fashion guru, but I was able to identify Chanel Iman and Hilary Rhoda. So apparently the September issue of Vogue is important for the fashion industry. They best described “September for us is January for you” as in, the start of the new year. It’s amazing the power Anna Wintour has over the entire industry. And it’s amazing to see that she isn’t really...

After Sex.
Fantastic movie. Nine short stories about nine conversations nine different couples have after having sex. The less said the better because even watching a four minute trailer, a lot can be spoiled. But I’ll just say you’ve got all your bases covered: you’ve got your old folk, you’ve got your lesbians, you’ve got your gay frat boy, you’ve got your lovers,...

The Tracy Fragments.
The new background to my cellular device. Even if this seventy-seven minute film had been a little underwhelming, the highlights of it come from the metaphors between her brother and her virginity. Not that she loses her virginity to her brother, but the fact that her brother may or may not actually exist. He could just be the characterization of her youth, which goes missing the minute Billy...

Dawn of the Dead (1978).
Nothing like watching really, really stupid people. There was a glimmer of hope in the woman though. She decided she should know how to fly a helicopter in case everybody else was a fuck up. Even though she went ahead and got pregnant during the zombie apocalypse, but hey someone’s got to repopulate the world. And there was a man who actually knew how to shoot a gun and survive. And in fact,...

My history with Canon cameras.
Canon SD600 (August 2006 - November 2006) Got this for my birthday. It was a great camera, I really loved it. Sometimes when I took photos, smoke would shoot out of the flash though. It got a lens error and the warranty actually covered it. But then a few days later the screen cracked. Lame. Canon SD1000 (January 2007 - August 2008) Bought this with my own cash. It was way too square to be...

2010 in film.
You know at first I had thought that 2010 was a bad year in film because there weren’t a lot of movies that I wanted to see, but then I realized that 2010 was a bad year in film only because there were a lot of movies that I have not seen. 127 Hours A Nightmare on Elm Street Black Swan Devil Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Machete Predators Repo Men Resident Evil:...

Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood.
Yeah. So that’s Jason under the mask. Sometimes it just really is better to never reveal these things. Like I wonder what kid in the 80’s saw that face and screamed instead of laughed. It’s so ridiculous. And what’s even more ridiculous is the plot of this movie. You see those chains around Jason’s neck? Well some guy actually managed to tie a chain around...

Tron.
So Flynn and his two pals have a mission. To find a secret file hidden in some video game that’ll prove that Flynn was the creator of it, and that evil bad guy and evil super computer are evil. Interesting premise. So what did we get? Grey people? Terrible graphics? Some kind of cyber insects that never served a purpose? I know what we got. The best line ever. “He had access to you” spoken from...

Survival of the Dead.
What a boring movie. George A. Romero, you have a great battle plan. Recapture your audience with a superb reimagining of Dawn of the Dead, and then continue to crank out poorly written movies that don’t even look good, and your fans will watch them all. Or maybe you don’t even have fans. Maybe zombies just have fans. And you’re cashing in on that. Seriously, this movie sucked. Oh, maybe we can...
